Freeland House

A key part of our value-creation model is to work with our tenants to identify and implement active asset management opportunities. One of our most significant projects in 2019 was the construction of specialist dementia care facilities at Freeland House, operated by Minster Care. The new facility offers care to existing residents who develop dementia symptoms and need more support, and also provides places for new residents with dementia needs.

How we add value

Construction of the new 46-bed dementia care facility in the grounds of Freeland House completed in January 2020. All the rooms have en-suite wet rooms and the building has been decorated and furnished to meet the needs of people living with dementia.

The impressive new building is linked to the 65-bedroom Freeland House, which was built in 1860 and is listed. The modern accommodation benefits from a full-height central atrium and varied day space, including an activities room, hairdressing salon, cinema room and residents’ café. In addition, there are two first-floor gardens and a ground-floor landscaped garden, overlooking parkland. These gardens are secure, to ensure resident safety.
